COPPA: How to book

You can make a reservation, by calling 020 89852683.

COPPA is loose interpretation of a Southern Italian meets British Seaside Holiday rooftop in East London. The idea is that the food is feasting/sharing style. We have an extensive menu that includes snacks, antipasti and larger sharing style dishes. Attached is an example menu.

We also have a full bar, offering cocktails, a good full Italian wine list and our favourite granite, in both boozy, and sober form.

COPPA is a mixture of Capannas (small beach huts), trestle tables that seat up to 6, and a bar area full of deck chairs and lower tables that we don’t reserve except for one space that is for larger groups.

THE CAPANNAS:

Capannas are in two sizes, one that seats 4-6 people, and larger ones that seat 8-10. Each booking is for 3 hours, allowing you to enjoy the space and the food with your friends. You are covered if the weather is changeable and each Capanna is designed and painted by a local Hackney artist.

THE TRESTLES:

These lie along the wall and are great to soak up the sun and enjoy the bustle of the roof. These seat up to 6, and if you are 2-4 people, you may have to share your table. These are covered by an awning, but the end is exposed to the elements, and we can’t guarantee total protection from the elements – it is all dependent on the angle of the wind!

THE BAR:

The bar is where you can hang on a deckchair, catch the rays and kick back. We don’t reserve this area (except for one space which is for larger groups), and leave it for folks to come up and grab a spot. We don’t serve food here unless you reserve the section for groups and you pre-order. You can look at our menu by clicking here

Other Q & A that you may have..

  • What style food is on offer?

We are offering a very loose Southern Italian BBQ inspired menu with many options to share and lots of fried and grilled snacks.

  • Are you child friendly?

Yes, we are! There is a lift to the roof that you can access with the help of our security guards that are at the entrance. This makes it easy to get a buggy up. Once you are up there, the roof is very safe for children.

  • Are you dog friendly?

Yes, we are!

  • Is it a bar?

Yes. You can come and get a drink and sit on a deck chair and catch some rays without having to eat a thing.

  • What are your opening times?

We are open from 5pm on Fridays and from 12 Saturday and Sunday. Our kitchen shuts at 10pm and we call last orders at 10:30 except for Sunday when we shut at 9pm.

  • Can I book out the whole place?

Yes, you can. Contact fran@lardo.co.uk to enquire further.

  • What type of weather protection do you have?

Currently the Capannas offer full weather protection, and we have an awning that covers the trestle tables. The bar area is unprotected.

Can you provide birthday cakes?

Of course! We make a mean Cassata, which is a fantastic birthday cake option – It is not only beautiful but also delicious! £40 and it can feed up to 16 easily.

  • Do you have gluten free/ vegetarian options?

We offer items on our menu that are gluten free and meat free. Let us know if you have other dietary requirements.

  • Do you turn tables?

Yes. Individual Capannas have a reservation for 3 hours. Trestle table bookings for up to 5 have reservations for 2 hours, up to 6, 3 hours.

When do you close for the winter?

We are open until the end of September but may consider opening later if the weather continues to be warm enough.

  • Do you provide heaters?

Not as yet, but we do have some delightful crochet rugs that are there to help you stay warm, and the Capannas are surprisingly warm in the evening.

  • Do you take credit cards?

Yes, we do take Visa, Mastercard and all debit cards.

  • Why do you take cc details when making a booking?

We only have a limited amount of Capannas and they are very popular. If you cancel with 24 hours notice, we won’t charge a thing. But if you cancel within 24 hours of your booking we charge £10 per person. Please let us know with notice if you can’t make it so others can.

We really look forward to seeing you.
